The long-standing partnership between Geis and ADRA demonstrates that logistics can also have a significant social dimension.
In 2025 alone, Geis arranged the transport of nearly 200 pallets of goods from Amazon’s warehouses to volunteer centres and ADRA shops throughout the Czech Republic. The partnership, which began several years ago, has gradually evolved from logistical support to assistance with the distribution of goods intended for charitable purposes.
How far can a single pallet of goods travel? In the case of the collaboration between Geis and ADRA, much further than it might seem at first glance. Not only to warehouses, businesses and shops, but above all to people who need help and support.
Since the start of 2025, Geis has arranged the transport of nearly 200 pallets of goods from Amazon’s warehouses to volunteer centres and ADRA shops across the Czech Republic. However, the journey of these consignments does not end there. Quite the opposite. This is where their new story begins.
Some of the goods are used in parcels for lonely elderly people, the homeless and others facing difficult life circumstances. Hygiene products, toiletries and small gifts not only provide practical help but often also send an important message that someone is thinking of them.
Another portion of the goods goes to the network of ADRA shops. The organisation uses the proceeds from these sales to support volunteer programmes and other charitable activities. Last year alone, it raised approximately 200,000 crowns in this way, which helped to fund the work of volunteers throughout the country.
It is precisely volunteers who represent one of the most important links in the chain of support. They visit the elderly, hospice patients, people with disabilities and children in care homes. In doing so, they often offer the most valuable thing they have to give – their time. A chat, a walk together or regular get-togethers can brighten up someone’s day and ease feelings of loneliness.
The partnership between Geis and ADRA also brings environmental and social benefits. Goods are given a second chance at use, whilst ADRA shops create job opportunities for people returning to the labour market after a long absence.
Every pallet transported thus represents more than just a logistics service. It is part of a chain of support that connects companies, non-profit organisations, volunteers and beneficiaries. The partnership between Geis and ADRA confirms that well-functioning logistics can not only help with the transport of goods, but also improve the lives of people throughout the Czech Republic.
