Geis Group reports 14.5% year-on-year increase in turnover

The logistics provider has set a new record with net sales of €1.335 billion in 2022, an increase of 14.5% compared to 2021. This year, the company will focus on further investments, especially in sustainable projects.

In total, the Geis Group employs approximately 6,600 people in 125 locations in seven European countries. "Thanks to their exceptionally strong commitment, we have been able tGeis Groupo achieve healthy growth in all business areas in 2022," say Managing Directors Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis. "However, 2022 was also associated with enormous cost pressures, particularly in the areas of personnel and energy. Despite the weakening economy, however, we currently see no major improvement on the cost side."

Preparation for further development

The Group achieved a number of successes last year in the area of further development. For example, it significantly expanded its distribution network in Poland and optimised the quality of its services to confirm its position as market leader in each country. However, a major milestone was in the area of sustainability, namely the launch of the MissionZero programme.

The programme aims to make the company climate neutral by 2040. The Geis Group is already aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 65% by 2030 and has launched a number of environmental projects to this end in 2022.

Large-scale investments planned

In the current financial year, Geis intends, among other things, to further intensify its sustainability strategy, expand its network by investing in land and buildings, and optimize processes through innovative solutions. These include IT systems for warehouse management or a new forwarding system. We are also planning to use new technologies such as data glasses for order picking, autonomous driverless transport systems or other automated warehouse equipment. "With massive investments in sustainability, IT and innovation, as well as in our distribution network, we are creating the optimal conditions for future growth," say Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, Managing Directors.
