With effect from 1 January 2027, the Geis Group will acquire a 100 per cent stake in Krage & Gerloff Logistik GmbH, based in Schwanebeck.
Through the acquisition of one of the leading logistics service providers in Saxony-Anhalt, the group is strategically expanding its network in Germany and strengthening its position within the IDS Logistik association. It is thus building on its previous acquisitions of Krüger, Gras Gruppe and agotrans and continuing its growth.
The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.

Krage & Gerloff employs around 430 staff at its two branches in Schwanebeck and Magdeburg and achieved a turnover of around 63 million euros in 2025. Founded in 1995, the company offers services in the field of domestic and international general cargo transport, full-load transport, groupage, logistics for retail chains, and related logistics and warehousing solutions.
Both family-run businesses are linked by a long-standing and trusted partnership within the IDS network. “Krage & Gerloff is a strategic perfect fit for our group and ideally complements our portfolio of road transport services,” say Jochen Geis and Hans-Wolfgang Geis, managing partners of the Geis Group. “We have known the company and the family behind its management for many years. We share the same outlook on long-term thinking, reliability, responsibility and a partnership-based approach to employees and customers. We are all the more delighted by the trust they have shown in us through their decision.”
Joining the Geis Group will give Krage & Gerloff access to an international network, a broader portfolio of services and additional capabilities in the areas of contract logistics, air and sea freight. It will also open up new opportunities for further business development in the region.
Sebastian Gerloff remains the company’s managing director and will continue to lead it alongside his team and the Geis Group’s management.
“Krage & Gerloff is a successful company with a strong market position. At the same time, I am convinced that, with the support of a strong group, we will be even better prepared for the challenges of the coming years and will continue to be a reliable partner for our customers,” says Gerloff. “I am highly motivated to continue leading Krage & Gerloff under the Geis Group umbrella with the same dedication as before. My son is already working in our company and represents the next generation of the family. Together with our staff, we want to seize new opportunities and build on the long-term success of Krage & Gerloff as part of the Geis Group.”
In future, customers will benefit from the backing of an internationally active group with around 10,000 employees across 14 countries. The existing teams and local management of the company will remain in place.
With this acquisition, the Geis Group is further strengthening its position within IDS Logistik, Germany’s largest groupage transport association. The IDS region served by Krage & Gerloff directly complements the Geis Group’s existing regions and thus represents an ideal expansion of its network.
