We have successfully relocated the warehouse for our long-standing client, the Husqvarna Group, to new, modern premises. The warehouse is used for Husqvarna and Gardena products, which fall under the same group and include a wide range of outdoor care equipment. The new premises not only offer greater capacity and more efficient operations, but also a major innovation – part of the warehouse is now certified for the storage of hazardous substances in accordance with ADR.

"The main reason for the move was the need for greater storage capacity and, at the same time, the requirement for specialized conditions for storing chemical products. The new premises allow us to do both – and, in addition, they have enabled us to significantly streamline our logistics processes," says Pavel Kotula, Site Manager at Geis CZ. The stored products mainly include garden equipment, irrigation systems, hand tools, and other outdoor care equipment typical of the Husqvarna and Gardena brands.
The newly built warehouse is located in CTPark Ostrava – Poruba, in an area with excellent transport accessibility and connections to major roads. Its operation is controlled by an advanced WMS system, which enables accurate inventory tracking, optimization of warehouse processes, and smooth flow of goods. The system is developed directly by Geis IT specialists to meet the specific needs of the client.
The move to the new premises was carried out in cooperation with the Geis Bravantice branch and involved over 350 trucks. Thanks to careful coordination and an experienced team, the entire process was completed without complications and on schedule. Warehouse operations were quickly stabilized after the move and are running smoothly.
Grzegorz Ryfa, CEE Logistics Manager at Husqvarna, says of the collaboration: "Strong partnerships are central to our strategy, where operational excellence plays a defining role. This step strengthens our capabilities and flexibility, while enabling us to consolidate our operations into a single, more efficient warehouse."
Part of the new warehouse is equipped to meet the strict requirements for the storage of hazardous substances under the ADR international agreement. This includes not only technical security, but also trained personnel and strict safety protocols. Specific elements include, for example, drip trays under the racks, special fire zones, coatings, and emergency kits.
The technological equipment of the warehouse is constantly evolving. Currently, the warehouse is equipped with modern racking systems and roller conveyors and is ready for further technological expansion. The technologies used also include the Pick by Voice system, which enables voice-controlled picking of goods and contributes to greater accuracy. This year, there are plans to introduce robotic elements for moving pallets and long-term testing of a robotic system for storing and picking individual items is underway. This should contribute to further increases in efficiency in the future.
A well-coordinated team of experts contributed to the successful implementation of the project, whose experience and professional approach were key to the smooth running of the entire relocation. "The expansion of our services to include the storage of ADR goods is an important step for us. It is not just a matter of complying with legislative requirements, but of offering a comprehensive solution that provides our clients with certainty, security, and operational flexibility," concludes Pavel Kotula.
The new premises offer not only state-of-the-art facilities, but also sufficient capacity for further development. Of the total area of the new warehouse, approximately 3,000 m² is currently still available, which Geis can offer to another client in need of a high-quality and flexible storage solution.
