Helping makes sense. And when goodwill is combined with movement, beautiful things happen.
The Naše Světluška fundraising collection was established in 2007 on the initiative of Geis employees in the Czech Republic. Since then, we have been regularly contributing to the training of guide dogs through the Vodicí pes civic association. State support only applies to dogs in active training – the purchase of a puppy and its first year of life is entirely dependent on voluntary donations.
As part of this year's Naše Světluška challenge, we managed to collect thousands of kilometers, which Geis converted into support for training guide dogs for the blind. Thanks to this, we were able to welcome a new member to our Geis family – a female dog named Shine. Her training will help a specific person with a visual impairment lead a more independent life.
In addition, our assistance is also supported in the long term by a number of employees who contribute regularly in the form of payroll deductions. Thanks to this combination of one-time and regular donations, we have been able to support eleven guide dogs.
Shine is proof that even a little help can have a big impact. Thank you to everyone who helps us change the world for the better.
